Garage Sale

Be sure to set aside the third Saturday in May for the Civic Association’s Terrace-wide Garage Sale. This annual event draws thousands of bargain-hunting visitors to our community every Spring. On this day, hundreds of Terrace residents fill their garages, driveways, lawns and more with some of the best treasures – and deals – this side of the of the Mississippi.

To help accommodate the large number of visitors on this day, traffic patterns are altered, food vendors set up on the streets, and porta-jons are available…all helping to make your day in the Terrace safe, rewarding and enjoyable.

As the event draws closer, this page will contain additional information for residents participating in the Garage Sale, and a downloadable street map for visitors, indication traffic patterns and more.

So start making plans now to join us for this time-honored Terrace tradition!

Please Note:

Food Vendors: All mobile food vendors must have permits from the Town of Owego, and must comply with permit conditions.  The permit only allows stopping in the street for a maximum of 10-15 minutes before moving on.  Food and beverages should be pre-packaged.  Food handlers of non-pre-packaged items must have access to running water for hand washing.  Please be advised that the Tioga County Health Department may conduct spot inspections.

Commercial Vendors: If you are hosting a commercial vendor at your home, please ask them to consider making a donation to the TTCA to help offset the cost of organizing the Terrace Garage Sale.  Checks should be made out to: Tioga Terrace Civic Association and sent to Nancy Sydlosky, TTCA Treasurer
